Imagine if the meteor that turned Stephen King into a plant instead landed in Hicksburg, The South, USA and got all <a title=\"Tragically, I have still not actually seen this movie.\" href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/title\/tt0084787\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Thing<\/a> on the local residents, and then it and <a title=\"Or, okay, Nathan Fillion. He's earned it by now.\" href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/name\/nm0277213\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Malcolm Reynolds<\/a> got into a competition for the same girlfriend. In this circumstance, you would be watching <a title=\"What's Gotten Into You?\" href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/title\/tt0439815\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Slither<\/a>, an excellent space monster movie that is inexplicably failing to sell tickets. I mean, this movie has alien cow-tipping!<\/p>\n<p>More impressively even than that, though, it has that degree of reality that I was just praising in <a title=\"My review of The Hills Have Eyes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.delirium.org\/?p=170\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hills Have Eyes<\/a>, where it feels like actual people are in this actual situation, somewhere just down the road and not in my life only through sheer geographic and temporal luck. Which is quite a feat for an alien-in-a-meteor flick. So, good on them.<\/p>\n<p>Also? Someone I&#8217;ve had drinks with was in the credits.
